Meet Your Expert Instructors

Certified Nurse Midwife

I’m Skyler Jacobs. I’m a hospital-based Certified Nurse Midwife and women’s health advocate.

Helping women understand their own bodies and babies throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work. Pregnancy as a new experience is accompanied by so many changes, thoughts and feelings— but I’m a strong believer that fear and feeling overwhelmed don’t have to be part of them.

Doctor of Physical Therapy

I’m Mae Hughes. I’m a mother, Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Wellness Enthusiast.

I’ve been passionate about physical therapy for as long as I can remember, but helping moms feel capable and strong in their own bodies is truly the job of my dreams. When I'm not serving women across the globe you can likely find me on a family walk with my little girl (Ava), my husband and rescue pup.

  • We believe the sweet spot is between 32-36 weeks. The material covered in the course is designed to be applied as you head into Week 36. Starting earlier, allows you to take your time working through the modules, bring questions and conversations to your provider before birth, and complete the course prior to labor.

  • Yes. Our mission is to present you the options and the research, then let you make the choice you believe is best. We also equip you with tools to have conversations with your own providers and care team during the days leading up to your labor and during your birth.

  • We provide multi-disciplinary and unbiased options for women to make decisions that are best for them regardless of the birth setting. Rather than providing you with only the hospital’s policy, we supply you with endless options for things like pain management, pushing, breathing, inductions, etc, so that you can choose the path that most aligns with your desires for birth.

  • The course is made up of 12 modules each further broken down into lessons that are digestible in their content and time requirement. Each module includes downloadable cheat sheets, PDFs, and a workbook you and your support person can work through during the course.

  • You can access this course on your phone, tablet, desktop, or laptop.

  • We truly believe it is! Equipping yourself to be an active, informed participant in your labor and birth experience is an invaluable step towards achieving the birth you desire. We want you to feel empowered and prepared.

  • We think this is the perfect complement to in-person labor prep with a pelvic floor PT. With the hands-on guidance of your therapist, and the virtual support of this course, you feel even more confident as you give birth. Plus, you’ll have lifetime access to the course, so you can return to the education and exercises if you need them again in the future.

  • Mae is not currently taking new in-person clients in Nashville, but she offers a variety of courses to help you through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery.
